One of my very favorite group games isn't a board game at all - you just need books! One peorsn is designated to pick a book from the pile, and they read the description on the back/sleeve. Everyone writes down what they think the first sentence could/should be, and the picker writes the actual one. Then they're thrown into a hat and read one by one. It's usually fun just because they're so crazy -- you vote which one you think is the real first sentence. If you get it right, you get a point, and if someone picks your sentence you get a point. The more ridiculous the book is (romance novels are great!) the more fun the game is.
